About Darebin Chargers Cricket Club

Darebin Chargers Cricket Club was established in 2009, and since then, we’ve proudly fielded three senior teams competing in the NWMCA, alongside a junior sides program that nurtures young players and lays the foundation for Melbourne’s future cricket talents. From the grassroots juniors to competitive senior grades, our club is built on progress—from local backyard beginnings to representative play.

At Darebin Chargers, we believe in holistic growth. Every member—whether male, female, young or mature—receives the support to excel on the field as cricketers and off the field as individuals. We foster skill development, personal wellbeing, and community spirit through structured coaching, mentoring and team culture.

Junior Program Darebin Chargers Cricket Club

At Darebin Chargers Cricket Club, our Junior Program is designed to inspire young cricketers and set them on a path of growth, confidence, and team spirit. We offer a supportive and inclusive environment where kids can develop their skills, make friends, and fall in love with the game of cricket. Catering to age groups from Under-10s through to Under-16s, our program offers age-appropriate coaching and development pathways to suit every stage of a junior cricketer’s journey. With experienced coaches, structured training sessions, and regular match play, we focus not only on performance but also on character-building and enjoyment.

Our Commitment to Child Safety

At Darebin Chargers Cricket Club, the safety and well-being of every child in our care is our highest priority. We are fully committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment where young players can learn, grow, and enjoy cricket free from harm. Our club follows the Child Safe Standards set by the Victorian Government, including strict policies on supervision, conduct, and reporting. All coaches and volunteers undergo Working With Children Checks and receive ongoing training to support a culture of protection and accountability. We believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and empowered—on and off the field.
